Memoir

When I first saw my cat…

Opening my tiny eyelids was the first thing I remember, I was in my white wooden crib curling up to take a nap. When all of a sudden, a fuzzy tiger looking animal paced up and down the crib. I was scared, but not scared enough to cry! The orange animal didn’t hurt me, it just paced up and down silently like a ninja. I finally had enough bravery to tap the orange ball of fur. Slowly my tiny finger wobbled over to the animal. It looked at me, and I looked at it. I rolled my body to face the other way hoping its nails weren’t going to dig into me anytime soon.

I closed my eyes. Nothing had happened, no scratch marks, nothing. I turned my body slowly and cautiously to face the tiger looking thing. It was harmless! The thing I had feared for about 5 minutes was harmless! It curled its body close to mine, it was fluffy, and warm. I could feel her little heart beat beating as she fell asleep. I fell into a deep sleep, and when I awoke there was no more fluff, warmth, or little heart beat, just me and white wooden crib.

I looked at my feet where the thing should have been. It wasn’t there, it had vanished. Vanished without me even knowing it had left. Later that night in the crib, I was awoken by a bounce of the crib! The orange fluffy animal leaped from the shelf to the bed. The height the animal had was incredible! I was amazed by the magical flight my cat had just taken from the shelf to the crib. It snuggled near my feet and knocked out, me on the other hand! I couldn’t sleep after what I had just seen. I have wanted to fly, and jump as high as my cat did that night! Ever since I saw that tiger looking thing.
