The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

I am excited to be blogging about one of my favorite books, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz! Not only is my name in the text, but the story line and the characters are one of a kind. In this story Dorothy is transported to a magical world filled with lions, scarecrows, and a tin man. These characters are on a quest to reach the The Wizard Oz whom supposedly grants your wishes, but during their travels there is an Evil Witch from the West who terrorizes Dorothy in order to steal her ruby slippers.
This story is fun for kids of all ages due to the many characters and magical things that happen, you build suspense due to The Evil Witch of the West and of course a bond between Dorothy and her friends as your mission to see The Wizard of Oz progresses. My favorite part of the story is when Dorothy and her friends are fighting against The Evil Witch of the West. She brings excitement and her need for the ruby slippers builds until the end (where she takes full action on Dorothy and her friends.)
I believe this book is for anyone, it really shows the value of friendship and determination. Dorothy is determined to get back to Kansas and see her family again. This is a pure and joyous story that resembles the movie, this book leaves you with wonders and helps to transport your imagination to a place it has never been before. The story becomes a reality as soon as you start reading, and you won’t be able to stop until the very last page.
